Our client is a real estate private equity firm employing a fundamental value approach to investing by targeting select product types and geographic regions, with an emphasis on major markets in the United States.

The candidate will join the firm’s finance team based in Boston, MA. He/she will participate as a key team member in a broad range of portfolio activities, including portfolio reporting and analysis and risk management in a broad capital market context. He/she will collaborate with the Acquisition, Asset Management, Investor Reporting, Accounting, and Finance teams to ensure accurate analysis and reporting of investment performance and portfolio exposures.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize existing models to project and monitor performance at the asset and fund level
  • Collect and analyze actual and projected cashflows
  • Evaluate key metrics such as IRR, MOIC, peak capital, profit, and yield
  • Calculate performance of subgroups and across various periods of time
  • Develop analytical models on an ad hoc basis
  • Assist with ad-hoc investor requests
  • Analyze investment assumptions at underwriting and related to the current business plans/valuations
  • Manage multiple internal and external data collection workflows and ensure completeness and accuracy of information collected and stored
  • Prepare ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly reports, presentations, and analyses for senior management, the acquisitions/asset management team, investor relations, and accounting
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of related technology initiatives including iLevel, Dealpath, and VTS
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions that improve existing processes
  • Undertake relevant research on the economy and real estate markets
  • Ensure compliance with fund and joint venture documents

Required Skills

  • Advanced Excel modelling skills, highly analytical, ability to work independently, detail-oriented, strong financial skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing, excellent interpersonal skills
  • General financial, accounting and capital markets understanding; in-depth real estate knowledge/experience
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies throughout various data inputs received from different functions within the organization
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, develop project plans, manage varied tasks simultaneously, work within a team in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to travel occasionally

Qualifications

  • Two years of real estate experience, preferably in a transaction advisory, consulting, audit, or fund management environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Base Salary Range: $95,000 – $125,000
